growth

is it happening where you are, too?

are you seeing new growth,
fresh young greens,
and buds while you are coming and going?

spring is showing up a little more everyday.

it seems a long time coming.

i still, am sort of amazed that this happens every year.

that the grass begins to green,
that the buds begin to bloom
and that new growth happens....when we are just busy carrying on about our days.

it is happening.

whether you take a moment or two to notice what is happening outside where you are or not. nature carries on.

soup from bones

new year and new beginnings. who doesn't like that? but, do we have to start over? or can we begin again. from where we left off?

can we take all we've learned and experienced and use it to begin....right here, right now?

that's what i'm doing. no resolutions. no big fan-fare. just quietly scooping up all i've learned, gained and experienced to make further progress.

do you know what works for you....and what doesn't? are you willing to let go of what isn't working this year?

what works for me? starting the year with a big pot of soup on the stove and my big family to share it with. it's a tradition--17 years, now. making soup from bones. a black bean and ham soup. our christmas eve honey baked ham bone in particular. then lots of yummy ingredients. it simmers all day. the recipe is right here. it's an evening of family, good food and games every new year's day. that works for me. taking something wonderful from last year and bringing it into the new year. soup from bones--something from nothing.

right about now

is it time?

i used to feel--i'm late, i'm late for a very important date.

but, i now realize that every moment--you and i are both just where we are suppose to be.

every moment is a prerequisite for the next.

i've been hemming and hawing about this new blog for far far too long. still a work in process....i have to work on the banner a bit for sure.

in the meantime, i wanted to get up and going.

it's difficult to get anywhere while standing still.
so one step at a time.
one foot in front of another.

if you've been following my blog, www.indigojonesstudio.blogspot.com you will still see some of what i'm working on here, pictures of pretty good things along with the stuff that goes on in my head and heart.

i said two years ago that i was going all out.

i didn't go all out.

i stuck my head out and then sort of closed the door with little peeks through shuttered windows.

well, i'm throwing the sashes wide open and hoping you'll join me, while i wear my heart on my sleeve and chat away about my own perspectives and thanksgivings, pie and sandwiches, paint colors and and the meaning of it all. and a little bit of everything else.
